Sustainability Progress Reflection 6

"Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From quiet reflection will come even more effective action." - Peter F. Drucker

What did your group gain from this peer review process?

Our review group informed us that they thought our plan was well-explained and detailed. When further pressed, they said that the document was clear and our message was not lost or obscured.

What were the strengths and areas for development of your project?

From self evaluation, we think that our aim and rational is well-developed. However, we do need to fix our Gantt chart. I think that our roles and justification might still have some room for improvement - but as it stands, it works. I think we need to consider if we want the document to be one fully written piece or to add multimedia to it.

How will your group move forward now?

We will continue to edit and fine-tune the document. In terms of specific content, we still have to:
  • add the conclusion of our raising awareness campaign
  • receive and record the responses from surveys sent to various parties
  • complete and add the proposal aspect of the project

Sustainability Progress Reflection 5

"In any collection of data, the figure most obviously correct, beyond all need of checking, is the error. - Finagle's Rule

As a group, we have been working on our project plan. Over the holidays, we finally finalised our plan. Now, we are just planning to get it peer assessed and amend it as we deem necessary.

Wen Wen worked on creating the Gantt Chart; we have evaluated it. Wen Wen and I have also been working on contacting T-shirt printing companies to get quotations on our designs. Today, Jia Yi and Mia joined the search. With the results from our survey in, we will hopefully be able to finalise the preparations for the T-shirt sale by the end of next week.

My roles in the completion of the project (in no particular order):

1. Lead the team / Facilitate activities
2. Approach Dr. Martin about presenting our proposal to the Board of Directors
3. Design T-shirt sale poster
4. Sell T-shirts
5. Write/check surveys about renewable energy and sustainability.
6. Cross-collaboration with other schools
7. Research about solar cells
8. Write the proposal
9. Present the proposal
